Report offers baseline to measure improvements in cancer control for Métis in Canada A new report measuring baseline data for cancer control in the Métis population in Canada shows patients, their families and caregivers face common issues in cancer care, including challenges in access to care for rural and remote communities in relation to treatment centres; financial burden; lack of trust and confidence in the cancer care system; the need for emotional support for the patient and their family; and the need for preventative health and cancer awareness education at the community level. The Partnership welcomes Nicole Beben to the executive team Nicole Beben joined the Partnership's executive team in September 2014 as Vice-President, Strategy. In this role, she is responsible for the Partnership's knowledge management; communications and outreach; and strategy, evaluation and analytics functions. In addition, she leads the Partnership's work to advance cancer control with and for First Nations, Inuit and Métis peoples.

Ms. Beben brings public and private sector experience leading complex strategic initiatives and extensive knowledge exchange, stakeholder relations and communications activities. Read more…
