Annual Report 2011/12 highlights progress in advancing Canada's cancer control strategy

The Canadian Partnership Against Cancer is pleased to present our 2011-12 Annual Report, Focused Approach, Measurable Impact. This report details the numerous achievements made possible through the effective collaboration and dedication of hundreds of partners working to implement the national cancer control strategy. Together, these organizations are generating new knowledge, sharing promising and emerging practices and growing regional solutions into tangible quality improvements across the country.

As the final year of the Partnership's initial five-year mandate, 2011/12 also marked the transition to our second mandate. Our focus, as reflected in the report, was on completing initiatives and achieving targets as well as connecting with partners to identify future opportunities across the cancer control spectrum.

With the 2012-17 strategic plan now being put into action, together with our partners we look forward to continuing our commitment to reduce the cancer burden for all Canadians.

Call for applicants: Advisory Groups and Strategic Priority Leads

This year marks a critical juncture for the Partnership focused on driving results in support of its 2012-17 Strategic Plan. To complement that work, the Partnership has aligned its organizational and advisory structures to follow the Plan's strategic priorities and core enabling functions. The advisory structures are collaborative networks of volunteer experts and members of the public that advise the Partnership in each of its cancer control priority areas.

Under the new structure, the Partnership is accepting applications for the following Advisory Groups: Early Detection and Clinical Care, Person-Centered Perspective, Population Health and Research. The Partnership is also seeking Strategic Priority Leads for the following initiatives: Canadian Partnership for Tomorrow Project, Early Detection and Clinical Care, and Person-Centered Perspective.

All individuals interested in becoming a member of an Advisory Group are invited to submit an application package no later than Friday, September 14. Strategic Priority Lead applications will be accepted until Friday, September 7. For more information about the renewal and application process, click here.
